Claudia Louise King, 86, gained her heavenly wings on July 31, 2023.

Claudia was independent and proud of her accomplishments during her lifetime.  She held several degrees and was an educator for 30 plus years.  She was strong-minded and did her best to maintain her independence until the last days of her life.

Claudia was born to the late Otis T. Bass and Annie Jenkins in Urbana, Texas.  She moved to Baytown, Texas at a young age.  Claudia was raised by her mother and bonus father Homer Washington, Jr.

She joined the Christian community at an early age.  She enjoyed singing in the choir into her adult hood.  She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church as a child.  During her adult hood, she was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church and Lillie Grove Baptist Church in Houston.

Claudia resided in Houston, Texas for the majority of her adult life-she relocated to Baytown, Texas in 2021.  Claudia was an educator with Houston Independent School District for 30 years, she retired in 1994 due to health issues.

Claudia is proceeded in death by her parents, Otis Bass, Annie Washington and Homer Washington. Sisters: Myrtle Bates and Mae Scott.

She is survived by her son Terran King (Anita), Devoted Niece/Caregiver Tiffani Fontenot (Demetrius), Granddaughter Barbara King (Jason), Brother-Clarence Washington, Sisters: Emma Malone and Laura Washington. Special friend Ms. Majorie Jones, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
