Johnny Lawrence Brown AKA Big Brown departed this life on June 17, 2021, and was born on February 28, 1954, to the late M.C. Brown and Josephine Holmes Brown of Baytown. He was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of McNair.

He was preceded in death by both parents M. C. Brown Sr., of Dobbin, Texas and Josephine Holmes Brown, of Baytown, Texas.  Siblings Morris Charles Brown Jr., Vicky Lynn Chase, Debra Annette Brown White, two Aunts, Lena Mae George, and Lillian Bowens of Baytown, Texas.

Johnny is survived by his loving, wife of 44 years, Tanjhi Maria Allen Brown, his daughter, Johntanya Maria Brown, his sister-in-law, Nisha Nicole Allen, one brother-in-law, Ronald Chase, all of Baytown, Texas. Johnny has one sister, Theresa Washington Coleman of Brenham, Texas, two aunts, Josie and Carolyn of Dobbin, Texas. He has two goddaughters Jasmaine Monae Gonzales and Kiya Payne.  He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Johnny grew up in Baytown, Texas in McNair Community, and was educated in the Goose Creek Independent School District. He attended Ross S. Sterling High School.  During his time at Ross S. Sterling, he was a member of the State 5A finalist football team and played a variety of sports. He was employed with the City of LaPorte for 5 years, and Dixie Chemical Company and DXI Industries for a total of 35 years before he retired.
