JohnTanya Maria Brown

June 19, 1978 — May 6, 2026

Baytown

JohnTanya Maria Brown, affectionately known as "Jai," graced this world with her presence from June 19, 1978, until May 6, 2026. Born and raised in Baytown, Texas, the very air of that place seemed to resonate with her vibrant spirit—a beacon of love, laughter, and a life fully embraced.

Jai was a woman whose very essence was a radiant melody, a symphony composed of joy, humor, and an unyielding zest for living. Those who had the privilege of knowing her often spoke of how her smile could ignite any room, transforming the ordinary into moments of warmth and light. Her personality was a vivid tapestry woven with threads of love and a bright, unabashed noise—the kind that fills spaces with life, turns heads, and invites conversation. A true talker, she brought people together with stories, laughter, and the kind of sense of humor that could both brighten days and soothe weary hearts.

A proud graduate from Goose Creek ISD, JohnTanya’s dedication extended beyond academics into the rich fabric of her life's passions. Her love of music was a soundtrack to the cherished moments spent with family, paired always with good food—simple pleasures she savored deeply. Above all, her heart belonged most tenderly to her mother, Tanjhi M. Brown, a bond that defined much of her happiest times.

Jai’s journey was surrounded by those who loved her dearly: her beloved mother, Tanjhi M. Brown; her caring aunt, Nisha Allen; and a host of relatives and friends whose lives she indelibly touched. While her father, Johnny L. Brown, has gone before her, his memory lives within the legacy she leaves behind.

As we prepare to honor her memory, visitation will take place on May 15, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Frazier Funeral Home, located at 7623 Harrison St., Baytown, TX 77521. The funeral service will follow immediately, from 11:00 a.m. to noon, where stories of Jai’s vibrant life and enduring spirit will be shared. Finally, the burial will be held at St. Martin/Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Crosby, Texas, beginning at 12:30 p.m., a place where peace will finally embrace her.

JohnTanya Maria Brown’s life was a celebration—one of music, love, laughter, and the bright noise of a soul that refused to be quiet. In her memory, we find both sorrow and light: sorrow for a voice that has been stilled too soon, and light in the endless echoes of her smile that will forever illuminate our hearts.
