Obituary

With heartfelt love and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Kenneth Joe Bryant, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Kenneth was born on June 28, 1949, to the late George J. Bryant and the late Sadie M. Bryant. He was the eldest and only son of three children, a natural-born leader, beloved big brother, and had a deep love for family.

Kenneth gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry J. Thomas, Sr. His love for God remained unwavering throughout his life. In 1994, still under Pastor Thomas's leadership, he was ordained as a Deacon at Unity Missionary Baptist Church. A devoted man of faith, Kenneth studied the Word of God daily, prayed fervently, and joyfully shared his wisdom with others. He truly never met a stranger and was known for his welcoming spirit and heartfelt prayers.

A proud graduate of George Washington Carver High School, Class of 1967, Kenneth was a gifted multi-sport athlete who lettered in football and baseball. His God-given talent, intellect, and determination led him to Prairie View A&M University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology.

Kenneth had a remarkable professional career, serving as an Electrical Technician at Lyondell Chemical in Channelview, TX and previously as a Pipeline Operations Technician for Exxon Mobil - Mont Belvieu Terminal, and as an Operations Technician for Du Pont in LaPorte, TX. His work ethic, intelligence, and excellence left a lasting impression wherever he went.

Kenneth's vibrant spirit shined through his many passions. As a teenager, Kenneth loved the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. He was an avid jazz enthusiast, loved to dance and travel, and was a lifelong athlete, especially on the tennis court and golf course. A proud Lakers and Cowboys fan, he cheered with the same passion he lived his life: boldly and unapologetically. He was deeply intelligent, sharp-witted, and never hesitated to share knowledge or lend a helping hand. Kenneth was a very compassionate and humorous person and brought laughter to every encounter. Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his best friend, Alfred Lewis Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving son, Roscoe De'Angelo Bryant; his devoted sisters, Cheryl Bryant Cole (Michael) and Dannette Singleton; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Kenneth's legacy is one of faith, family, joy, and service. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that he is resting in the arms of the Lord and forever at peace.

" For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
