Ray Sonnier
Jr.
July 27, 1950 – May 5, 2022
On May 5, 2022, the Lord reached down and claimed another one of His Servants, Ray Sonnier, Jr. Ray was born on July 27, 1950, to the late Vine and Ray Sonnier. He grew up in Baytown, Texas in McNair. He attended Ross Sterling High School, Baytown.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Baytown, Texas. Ray is survived by his children Eletha Craven, Iletha Grant and Pleshette King; his siblings Judy Millhouse, Joslyn Manuel (Allen "Cube") and Dalton Singleton; his grandchildren Tiera, Tye, Maya, Madison, Marcel, Alexia and Ashante (Sedrick). He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of beloved family & friends.
Ray Sonnier is proceeded in death by his loving mother Vine Sonnier and devoted father Ray Sonnier, brother Alton Singleton, sister Sally Fontenot, brother-in-law John Millhouse and sister-in-law Ingrid Singleton.
Everyone knew Ray Jr., who too was known as, "Beaver" throughout the McNair/Baytown communities. He worked at US Steel and later at ExxonMobil for many years until an injury forced him into an early retirement. His favorite past times were watching WWE and old western movies. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He had a big heart and loved his family dearly. No matter where life took him, he approached everything with a smile. He will be missed dearly.
