Roy Lee Howard was born in Reform, Alabama on October 28, 1937.  Roy departed this life on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He was the son of Floyd Howard and Helen Gordon.

Known for his quiet yet warm and genuine caring personality, Roy was well liked by all who knew him. His positive impact within the community will be sorely missed.

Roy was a devoted and caring life partner to Myrtle Byars. She, along with his Mom-Helen Gordon, Father-Floyd Howard, his daughters – Terica Sly, Jerry Waldrup and his sister – Tanya Gordon preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memories are his children – Roy Jr.(Robin), Ricky Byars, Robert Lynn (Erma), Leslie (Mose) Davis, Lee (Cassandra) Byars, and Deborah (Malvin) Johnson,  grandchildren – Sunshine, Stephen, Jeremy, Jared, Rianca and Cydnie - his Dad–Siamon Gordon, sister – Constance Kanaway Gordon, brothers – James Dwight Gordon, Benny Gordon and Thomas "Red" Gordon, and many loved relatives including an Aunt in Reform, Alabama-Mary Little, and a cousin in Cleveland, Ohio – Mary Lean.

Memorial service to pay respect and celebrate Roy's life is pending.
