Vernice Wheatfall was born December 21, 1936 to Robert and Marie Debose. At the age of 3, Vernice moved to Baytown, Texas.

She graduated from Georgia Washington Carver High, where she was Valedictorian and Homecoming Queen. Vernice worked for Lubrizol Corporation as an Administrative Assistant before retiring.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, two granddaughters, Shinoka Nowels (John) and Charnea Jones (Wayne), three great granddaughters, Kenzie, Stella Renee, and Zuri, Nieces, Tanjhi, Nisha, Anita, LaTonya (Anthony),Comaneci (Oberan), Johntanya, Nephews, Carl (Lawannah), Keith and a host of great nieces and nephews.
