Walter Paul
Guidry Jr.
June 24, 1942 – April 20, 2025
Walter P. Guidry, Jr was born on June 24, 1942, in Carencro, LA, to the union of Elta Mouton and Walter P. Guidry, Sr. He was born the sixth of seven children. He departed this earth April 20, 2025.
Paul attended St. Peter Claver School in Grand Coteau.
In July 1964, he married Lou Anna Dartez at St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church in Cecelia, LA. Three children were born to their union, Randy, Joseph Stacy, and Janice.
He and Lou Anna moved to Houston, TX, where Paul was a concrete finisher. Due to the grueling nature of the job, he learned a trade as a painter and worked for several companies in the local refineries. His last job was working for his son, Joseph Stacy, with JoeVon Constructions.
Upon his retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his great-grandbabies.
Paul is survived by: his children, Randy Guidry, Joseph Stacy Sr. (Lakethia) Guidry, Janice Guidry (Timothy) Trahan; Five grandchildren, Joseph Stacy Jr. (Catherine) Guidry, Shirvonti Guidry (David) Keller, Shelby, Kennedy, and Lauren Trahan; three great-granddaughters, Zara Keller, Nylah and Noelle Guidry; one sister, Margie Dugas of Grand Coteau; two brothers, Clifton (Dorothy) Guidry, Elton (Mary) Guidry and a host of relatives, godchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elta Mouton Guidry, Walter P. Guidry, Sr., wife, Lou Anna Dartez, sisters Bertha Gardner, Yola Mae Sam, and Lorena Key.
